Gunner

Its no secret that I’m obsessed with our family pet, Gunner. He’s more like my brother and sister’s dog, but I like to think he’s kinda mine too just because we have a special relationship. Yes, he’s just a dog- but he’s a wonderful dog. He came to our family, when we needed it most. We were pretty isolated with one another and having this time puppy around required attention from everyone. I mean we took shifts to be with him! lol He was so small (5 wks old). We found ourselves hanging out more and being around one another like a normal family. lol We didn’t even realize we didn’t make time for each other. (embarrassing) We’ve all grown because of him and we love him more for it. haha! Danny pokes fun at me, but I don’t care. A pet is a part of a family and no less. They are to be loved and cared for just like everyone else!

Danny and I plan to add to our little sub-family with a pet adoption soon. Hopefully before Christmas!  I’d love for Gunner to have a bff. haha

 

 

Our new house and Gunner

So we still haven’t moved into our new home yet. A lot has been happening, so the process has been delayed. The roof had to be replaced and we are in the middle of the bathroom being remodeled. Its been a month since we’ve been new home owners. I can’t wait to move in. Honestly. I want us to have our own home. Entirely us. Our choice of paint, our choice of furniture, etc. We haven’t really had that since we short-saled the apartment 3 years ago. I’m so excited. We’ve been slowly moving things in every other day or so. We pack some boxes and I drop them off in the morning before going into work. Danny goes every other day (when he’s not working like dog!) to fix things, add lamps, clean up, mow the lawn, etc. I’m hoping we’ll be in the house in 2 weeks! (crosses fingers!) In the meantime, here’s a picture of Gunner looking of so handsome in my living room with the little furniture we have! :)

This pup brings me so much joy! I’m so grateful for the chance to have another family pet! After our pup, Oreo’s time passed..we were devastated and doubted ever having another pet. The pain of that loss was so great. Well, God brought this “little” guy into our lives at just the right time. God used this opportunity to help our family unite and have a deeper appreciate of each other. God can use anyone- even a handsome dog!

Happy Birthday Gunner

Last Friday (Sept. 13) was our pup Gunner’s Birthday. Of course we had to celebrate!  We invited other doggy friends to the Lago Mar Dog park and had a great time! I know most people think it is ridiculous to have a birthday party for a dog who doesn’t know the difference, but we don’t care. Gunner has been such a blessing to our family! He is one of the best things to happen to us in a long time. Besides, I’m pretty sure he knew it was his day! He owned that birthday hat and knew the cake was for him!

* Enamarie made the best puppy tummy friendly cake ever! The dogs loved it! And our favors were on point!!
